Radical Road Brewing is a partnership of two professional brewers dedicated to taking the road less travelled, producing beer that challenges the status quo and delights the senses while avoiding fashionable trends; indeed, fuel for the craft beer revolution.

Meet the Brewers

Jon studied music in college, but his love of food called him to become a chef. He moved to rural France to learn how make cheese, and while working in the cheese industry, started to homebrew. When BarVolo in Toronto installed a small brewing system, Jon got a job as a server so that he could brew as well; he ended up developing quite a few of their regularly rotating beers. He met his Radical Road partner Simon da Costa when he became assistant brewer at Black Oak Brewing.

Born and raised in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Simon received a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Brewing and Distilling from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland before working in various roles at Scotland's Belhaven Brewery. In 2005, he returned to join Ontario's burgeoning craft beer movement. He has worked for Black Oak Brewery in Toronto for the past 7 years where he now holds the position of Head Brewer.
